When you think about streaming services — particularly the ones that offer original programming — no doubt the first one that comes to mind is Netflix, with shows like Stranger Things and House of Cards. Then there’s Hulu, with The Handmaid’s Tale and Future Man, among many others; and Amazon with such series as The Man in the High Castle, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Amazingly, there are actually even more services out there vying for your streaming dollars.

New kids on the block — a guide to which is below — include CBS All Access, which offers a lot of library product as well as originals like the sequel series to The Good Wife and the latest spin-offs in the Star Trek franchise; DC Universe, which is devoted entirely to the world of Comics in print and on film with a variety of original shows on the way; YouTube Red, which among many other things, has brought back the world of The Karate Kid with a series picking up 34 years after the first film’s release; and Apple TV, which is taking no prisoners in terms of its star power and the money that it’s pumping into production.

One that is not included in this guide — only because they’re not gearing up until 2019 — is Disney’s still untitled streaming service. Like Apple, this is another company that is throwing big bucks into the mix so that they can be competitive, made even more so by the company’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox — which could eventually make them the big kid on the block when it comes to streaming. And besides their massive library product between the two companies, there are a ton of originals in the works.

From the Disney side of things, we’ve been told of a live-action/CG adaptation of the classic animated film Lady and the Tramp, series versions of High School Musical (no, we don’t expect Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens to star) and The Mighty Ducks. From Marvel (owned by the Mouse House), there will be limited series focused on Tom Hiddleston’s Loki (yes, we saw him die in Avengers: Infinity War, too, but so what?) and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. And then, from Lucasfilm (which Mickey’s got his ears all over, too) we’re getting a 10-episode Star Wars series that is being overseen by Jon Favreau and has been given a whopping $100 million budget.

So there is a lot going on in the world of streaming services — scroll down to see what’s up with some of the (for now) lesser known ones.
