It’s never easy saying goodbye. The Equalizer fans took to social media after it was announced that CBS has canceled the show after five seasons.

The news that The Equalizer was canceled began circulating on May 2, and the show’s series finale aired on May 4. However, fans were absolutely heartbroken that the Queen Latifah-led show would not be continuing on.

The comments of the show’s official Instagram page became inundated with people begging to see the cancellation undone by the network.

“UNDO THE CANCELLATION NOW!!!!!” one person demanded.

“Y’all couldn’t give us just one more season to actually rap up the series!? cbs i will never forgive you!” another person said.

“DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!!!” a third person wrote in a comment.

“Finale. This is another series that shouldn’t be canceled! This is another huge mistake by CBS. It wasn’t bad enough that they canceled Blue Bloods now they continue making decisions that don’t make any sense!” someone else wrote.

Another person wrote, “It would be nice if another network would pick it up.”

“It’s a shame that the series was cancelled. They could have finished it with at least one more season. That would have been ideal!” another commenter expressed.

“Decisions” – While on a romantic getaway, McCall and Dante are abruptly ambushed by Salazar and his army. Meanwhile, Aunt Vi finally decides to take the next step in her relationship with Captain Curtis, and Dee meets with her favorite author who may be able to help her get into her dream university, on the fifth season finale of the CBS Original series THE EQUALIZER, Sunday, May 4 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). In a statement shared on Instagram, Queen Latifah, 55, expressed her gratitude for getting to play Robyn McCall on The Equalizer for five seasons.

“Stepping into a kick-ass role like Robyn was everything I hoped it would be. Shakim and I at Flavor Unit are always excited to bring these kinds of roles and projects to life—and then we just hope you love them as much as we do. The Equalizer blew past every dream we had for it, and having the opportunity to do this for five seasons honestly feels surreal,” she captioned her post.

“Thank you to our amazing cast, crew, and producers and writers! And I can’t say enough about the FANS!Y’all have been so loyal, so loud, and so ride-or-die—and that’s exactly why we keep doing this. We can’t thank you enough. It means the world to us,” the singer added. “And don’t worry—I’ll be back kicking ass in something new real soon. Can’t wait to share it with you.”

“What!? NOOoooooo. This show is my WEEKLY routine! You DID THAT, Queen! Xx,” one person commented underneath her post, as another said, “For five years, I’ve tuned in on Sundays eagerly. It didn’t matter how many times the show schedule changed, I was there from day one. I am so hurt and disappointed that we won’t get to see more of you Queen, Dante, Delilah, Aunt Vi, Mel and Harry. This show was so great for the culture!!! Let us know what time we ride out!!!”

“My dear Queen! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the extraordinary opportunity to be a part of your show! I had the time of my life and honored to be amongst the amazing talent that appeared on your show. Love to you All Ways and so excited to see what your brilliant self will do next!” Valarie Pettiford commented on the post.
