The ‘General Hospital’ Return That Could Change Everything for Michael Corinthos
‘General Hospital’s’ Michael misses his daughter Daisy and ex Sasha Gilmore. Could a return to Port Charles shake up his world and reignite a compelling storyline?
It’s been one year since General Hospital’s Michael (Rory Gibson) had to say goodbye to two important ladies in his life, whom he has barely spoken about over the last 12 months until recently. However, Michael recently made it clear that they are always on his mind. If they ever did return to Port Charles, Michael’s world would be completely unpended.
Daisy and Sasha Are Still Out There
When Sofia Mattsson opted to leave GH and Sasha Gilmore behind last year, her exit story seemed both rushed and a bit senseless. After giving birth to Michael’s child on the courtroom floor, Sasha panicked when someone appeared to be stalking her baby. Without any evidence, she assumed it was a Corinthos enemy and skipped town to stay with her parents, Holly (Emma Samms) and Robert (Tristan Rogers), in Europe.
The entire arc gave many fans whiplash, as they fully expected a renewal of Michael and Sasha’s romance with Rory Gibson having taken over the role played by Chad Duell, not even two months earlier. After Sasha left, Michael revealed that he thought his ex-wife, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), was stalking Daisy, and he was right. Then the whole story was dropped until just a few days ago.
While at the Metro Court pool, Michael mentioned how much he missed the infant daughter he never got the chance to get to know and that he still thinks Willow was behind Daisy being moved around the Quartermaine mansion whenever Sasha would turn her back.
If Sasha were to return to Port Charles, her presence could throw a wrench into multiple lives. Michael might finally try to prove what Willow did, Jacinda (Paige Herschell) would have some serious competition with Michael’s ex and his daughter back in town, and Michael would finally have a compelling story that could bring him back onto the front burner, rather than be relegated to a supporting player, as he has been.
With Mattsson taking on a mystery role at Days of our Lives, according to an Instagram post from earlier this year, Sasha would need to be recast, but her presence could be everything Michael needs to kick his story into gear.
