General Hospital’s Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) might be one of the most put-upon young heroes on soaps. In 2025, he suffered from alcohol poisoning and ended up in juvie after trying to rescue animals from a lab. But in 2026, things got so much worse when he shot a crooked international agent in the back, in an effort to save his best friend’s dad.

Rocco has been doing everything to keep what he did a pseudo-secret, but the guilt that’s eating away at him recently led to an on-set mishap that worked perfectly in the moment.

General Hospital’s Finn Carr Throws a “Pitch”

Rocco’s hardest task has been not telling Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) that his dad, Jason (Steve Burton), is now in an international prison because he took the fall for a crime that Rocco committed. Hearing that his honorary brother and his sister, Charlotte (Bluesy Burke), were headed to spooky Wyndemere to try to find out what really happened to WSB director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), sent Rocco into a tailspin.

He begged and pleaded with Danny and Charlotte to just stay put and let the authorities handle any dangerous situations, but Danny and Charlotte refused. In a moment of frustration, Rocco picked up a pillow off the sofa in the Quartermaine solarium and flung it at the other two teens on the May 19, 2026, episode.

According to Soap Opera Digest, the pillow was supposed to hit the wall, but Finn Carr explained that he doesn’t have a very good throwing arm, so that’s not what happened at all.

“I completely missed my target area — my massive target area — of the wall,” Carr revealed in an interview. “It hit the one area I wasn’t supposed to hit, which was the chessboard and the vase on the table in front of the wall … I broke the vase on impact with my pillow. That was completely accidental, not in the script at all.”

Carr was proud that he didn’t break character at all during the moment, so the mishap stayed in the final edit and made it to air. With Rocco’s constant state of panic since shooting Cullum, breaking a Quartermaine vase was just par for the course. If only he was able to stop his brother and sister from walking head-first into danger, maybe it would have all been worth it.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams each weeknight on Hulu.
