Tori Spelling Remembers ‘Hitting It Off’ With John Corbett and Sharing a Kiss at Christmas Party

At the height of her Beverly Hills, 90210 fame, Tori Spelling allegedly found herself sharing a romantic moment with John Corbett.

“My dad [Aaron Spelling] would always, like, court, I would say, like, new talent that he was trying to put on shows, so they would come. This is before Sex and the City, but John Corbett came,” she said during an episode of her “Misspelling” podcast on Monday, December 2, while recalling her parents’ elaborate holiday parties. “And he and I totally hit it off, and I remember having a kiss with him Christmas Eve.”

“It was a full kiss but it wasn’t a long kiss,” Tori, 51, remarked. “It took place outside. He was leaving the party and I walked him out because we had been hanging out all night and getting to know each other.”

“He had been on, what was it, Northern Exposure?” Tori said, referring to John, now 63.

She explained that her father wanted John to join a project he was producing, but ultimately, John’s career trajectory changed when he landed the role of Aidan Shaw on Sex and the City.

“I think he never did, because I think Sex and the City,” Tori said of why John eventually did not take part in any of Aaron’s projects. “I was like, ‘I never could tell anyone.’”

Tori claimed that after the Christmas party, John tried reaching out to her.

“I feel so foolish because I was kind of dating but not dating Noah, who was Vincent Young, at the time,” the Scary Movie alum said of her romance with her costar. “And because of that, like, John would call me, and we were supposed to go on a date and I didn’t reciprocate.”

John later met Bo Derek in 2002 and revealed that he married the actress in 2020 after 18 years of dating.

Tori went on to marry Charlie Shanian in 2004, but they divorced two years later. In 2006, she married her second husband, Dean McDermott. He announced their split in a since-deleted Instagram post in June 2023.

Tori has been quite an open book since filing for divorce from Dean in March. During a previous episode of her podcast, Tori was joined by 90210 costar Brian Austin Green and recalled being intimate with him during a trip to Disneyland when they were younger.

“I was like, ‘Why are you always getting mad? Why are we always fighting?'” she said during the November 5 podcast episode. “And you said, ‘Have you ever thought that maybe I fight with you because I love you?'”

“It was like we were out of a John Hughes movie,” she continued. “Then, you started kissing me in the middle of public and I was like, ‘Oh my god. There are people around and he’s kissing me. This is crazy!’ And then you were like, ‘Do you want to get out of here?’ and I was like, ‘Yeah!'”

Tori said that she made a phone call to tell costar Jennie Garth about her first hookup with Brian. Still, Brian maintained that he did not remember getting intimate with Tori the first time. She said it was likely due to the fact that they were intoxicated.

“I remember other times, but I do not remember that time at all. I don’t know how that’s possible,” Brian said after Tori told the story.
