General Hospital is pulling out all the stops for a milestone event on Monday as the 63-year-old soap airs its 16,000th episode. On July 13, 2026, you can expect to see reunions, showdowns, newcomers, and a big return.

Jason Morgan Returns to Port Charles

The thing most fans look forward to on Monday is when Jason (Steve Burton) returns to Port Charles from a WSB black site, where he’d been kept since March after taking the fall for shooting Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) just negotiated his release as a condition of her lying in her official statement, calling Cullum a hero rather than revealing he was a double agent.

A first-look photo published in TV Insider shows Jason on a flight home from Jakarta, looking as if he had just been through a war. His hair is shorter, his face is bloody and bruised, and there is a sadness in his eyes that indicates a previewed change for the character.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten said, “Jason returns from abroad a changed man. His imprisonment has had a profound effect on his outlook, and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life.”

But that’s not all you’ll see in this jam-packed hour on Monday. Expect the arrival of a new doctor in town in the form of Dean Geyer, the Australian/South African actor best known for the primetime series Glee, per IMDb. Geyer will play Dr. Tristan Roberts, with the character name being an ode to the late GH acting legend Tristan Rogers.

Other big storylines that you’ll see featured on Monday include Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) big reunion and Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) showdown over Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Anna does not know why or how Valentin is a free man, nor does she know he is involved with someone else now. And Chase and Brook Lynn finally have a real and raw talk over her schemes and insecurity and his lack of self-awareness when it comes to his behavior around his ex-wife.

Tune in Monday for a GH hour you won’t forget as everything changes in Port Charles.
