Valerie Bertinelli Shares Photo in Bra and Underwear: ‘Every Part of Me Just Feels Acceptance’

Valerie Bertinelli bared it all in her latest Instagram photo, sharing a powerful message along with it.

“At some point I will talk about the madness my body has been through this year,” she captioned the post on Monday, December 2. “But right now every lump bump wrinkle and saggy part of me just feels acceptance and simple appreciation to be standing in front of a mirror in a hotel bathroom in downtown Manhattan ready to color my roots late on a Monday night.”

In the photo, Valerie, 64, wore a black bra with black underwear as she stood in the hotel bathroom while holding a box of hair dye.

Fans and Valerie’s famous friends praised the One Day at a Time alum in the comments section of the post.

“You look great!” Kristin Chenoweth wrote with a red heart emoji.

“I love you so much!” Jennifer Love Hewitt commented on the picture.

“You look amazing!!” Leeza Gibbons said in a comment.

“Gorgeous!!! Love that you do your own roots!!! Mad respect for you!!” another person said.

The post came after Valerie celebrated the two-year mark of “freedom” after her divorce from Tom Vitale.

“Two years of walking through self doubt and doing my best to get to the other side,” she captioned an Instagram post on November 22. “Two years of knowing that I didn’t deserve to tolerate the intolerable. Two years of working through shame and self loathing. (Still working on that part long tail that) Two years of working to find my true self.”

“Two years of eventually dipping my toe in and feeling love again. (Thank you, Mike)” she said, referencing ex-boyfriend Mike Goodnough. “Two years of confronting past demons and traumas and doing my best to work through them. I want to be the best, most authentic version of myself heading into this last chapter of my life. I am learning that until I love myself and accept myself, all of me, my dark and light sides, I can never give someone else the love and emotional vulnerability that they need and deserve. You must give it to yourself first so that you can share it.”

Valerie went on to say that she was “so grateful” to her friends and family “for being with me through all of it.” And she once again mentioned Mike, 54, writing, “Thank you for being such a big part of my growth this year. I’m grateful for our experience and I’m so grateful I met you. And to all of you in my online community, I’m so grateful for you. I’m grateful for your feedback. I’m grateful for your compassion. Thank you.”

“Most importantly, I want you to know that if you’re struggling right now, I’ve been there and some days I can still be there but I want you to know it does get better. I promise you. It gets better,” she concluded. “Some days will still be hard and challenging, but on other days, the light will shine brighter and you will feel it. I love you.”
