Burglars Attempted to Rob Viola Davis’ House While She Was Sleeping Inside (REPORT)

This is so scary. Viola Davis' LA home was reportedly the scene of a crime that occurred this week when a group of burglars attempted to break into the actress' house while she and her husband were sleeping inside. According to TMZ, the 52-year-old star and her longtime spouse, Julius Tennon, were asleep on the abode's second floor when they were startled awake by the sound of a glass door breaking in their bedroom.

The entertainment news outlet reported on Tuesday, April 3 that a group of robbers used a ladder to climb up onto the balcony attached to Viola and Julius' master bedroom. Once they smashed the glass balcony door, however, the couple quickly turned on the lights inside the room and allegedly scared the burglars away.

Though local police have not yet arrested anyone involved in the crime, Viola's home's surveillance videos reportedly showed three figures clad in hoodies and gloves fleeing the scene of the attempted break-in before cops were called to the house. It is not known at this time whether Viola and Julius' seven-year-old daughter, Genesis Tennon, was also home at the time of the terrifying incident.

California police have reportedly stated that celebrities are not being specifically targeted in recent home burglaries, but Viola is sadly just the latest in a slew of stars whose properties have been robbed. Late last year, Kelly Clarkson revealed her LA abode was the site of a break-in but, luckily, she and her family were not home at the time. "We got robbed last night. Yeah, it was crazy. We got here and our whole house was, like, bashed in. It was crazy. Other than that, everyone is safe and good," she said.

John Stamos' pregnant wife, actress Caitlin McHugh, was similarly the victim of a robbery just before she tied the knot with the Fuller House star in early February. Beverly Hills police reportedly told Us Weekly that thieves stole about $165,000 of jewelry from 31-year-old Caitlin's unoccupied hotel room. We're so glad Caitlin, Kelly, Viola, and their respective families were not hurt during these scary robberies.
