What You Need to Know About Serena Baldwin Before She Makes Her ‘General Hospital’ Return
Serena Baldwin returns to ‘General Hospital’ on July 30 with Kelly Kruger debuting as the legacy character, daughter of Scott Baldwin and Lucy Coe, last seen in 2017.
It won’t be long now until legacy character Serena Baldwin returns to Port Charles and takes General Hospital by storm. Kelly Kruger debuts as the beloved character who has not been seen on screen in almost a decade on Thursday, July 30.
Who Is Serena Baldwin?
Serena was born on-screen in 1993 as the daughter of Dominique (Shell Danielson) and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), but she never met her mother. When Dominique learned she was dying from a brain tumor, she asked Lucy (Lynn Herring) to be her surrogate so that Scott could have a child. Lucy gave birth to Serena, but missed the first few years of her life because Scott left Port Charles with his infant daughter to keep her away from some nefarious actors.
Four years later, Scott turned up in Port Charles without his little girl and blamed Lucy for taking her. Lucy claimed innocence, but eventually Serena was found alive and well. She had been kidnapped by her mother’s relatives, who wanted her trust fund and fortune.
Serena had an eventful childhood and came to think of Lucy as her mother, especially after Scott and Lucy wed. They even adopted a daughter they named Christina, so Serena had a sister. After Lucy and Scott divorced, Serena lived with Lucy and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) in France and has rarely been seen since.
Although Carly Schroeder brought Serena back as a grown woman in 2017 to say goodbye to her grandfather, Lee Baldwin (Peter Hansen), we haven’t seen her since. She has been mentioned multiple times, including when Cody Bell showed up in town in 2022 and revealed himself as Dominique’s son with Mac Scorpio (John J. York). At the time, Serena was said to be blowing through her trust fund working on environmental causes.
Recently, Lucy had a one-sided phone call with her daughter to discuss men. This week, she is set to step foot in Port Charles just as Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) has purchased shares in Deception, Lucy’s cosmetics company. That is where her story will begin again.
