She’s been on the throne for 65 years, so many fans are dying to know facts about Queen Elizabeth. And with all the traveling she does, many royal fans are curious: Where does the royal live exactly?

The 91-year-old’s primary living arrangement is Buckingham Palace, which many tourists enjoy looking at during their visits to London. It was previously reported that the attraction will undergo a $470 million renovation.

“Buckingham Palace is one of the most iconic buildings in the world, and this program is designed to extend its working life by a further 50 years. On completion of the work, we’ll have a Palace fit for purpose until 2067,” Master of the Queen’s Household, Tony Johnstone-Burt, said in a statement. “The program addresses parts of the structure you can’t see from the outside: the plumbing, electrics, and other essential building services which have gone six decades without a comprehensive upgrade.”

Elizabeth also has Windsor Castle in Berkshire, England, where she spends most weekends, Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland where she often goes for August and Septemeber, and Sandringham House in Norfolk, England, where the holiday season is spent. She also owns places in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and Northern Ireland!

However, it was recently reported that 14 of her staff members from Buckingham Palace have quit. Since the Queen lives in many different places, the staff is forced to travel around with her.

“Because the Queen now lives at Windsor Castle most of the time, chefs often have to go there, then back to Buckingham Palace for functions,” the source revealed to The Sun. “Prince Charles uses the staff to throw events. Chefs are also asked to help out at Kensington Palace for Prince William, Kate Middleton, and PrinceHarry, plus dinners at St James’s Palace.”

“Nobody gets any time off or sees their families. It’s too much,” the insider added. “They’ve concluded it’s not worth it anymore. At least seven chefs have quit, plus other members of staff. Some are very experienced and won’t be easy to replace.” We hope everything gets sorted out!
