Angelina Jolie's childhood home is up for sale in New York for $2million USD. The Tomb Raider actress lived there with her mother Marcheline Bertrand in the 1980s. Bertrand, an actress/producer, owned the house after her split from Jolie's father - the actor Jon Voight. Jolie, now 40, and her brother, the producer James Haven, both attended the elementary school in the region, according to local reports. "It's a gorgeous area with a quiet, understated community," said Richard Ellis of Ellis Sotheby's International Realty firm. "It feels rather rural but it's in the unique position that it's only a 25 minute drive from Manhattan," he added. The four-bedroom home has an open plan feel with a "dramatic high pitched gable roof" and "overhanging eaves with exposed roof beams," says the listing. Described as and "outstanding renovation" of 1959 "mid-century contemporary" architecture the home has natural stonework with redwood, oak and pine fittings with heavy ceiling beams. It also allowed the Maleficent actress free run over two acres of picturesque land in the Rockland County region. The family then moved to Los Angeles, where Jolie, wife of Brad Pitt, attended high school and got her acting break in Hackers. Other celebrities in the area include the beloved comedian Bill Murray and Russian-American dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov. *** CREDIT: EdbergSolutions/Carney/Splash ***

The Upstate New York home where Angelina Jolie grew up is for sale!
The 4,000-square-foot property, located in Rockland County, NY, has hit the market for $2.049 million, real-estate agent Richard Ellis of Ellis Sotheby's International Realty told The Wall Street Journal.

The four-bedroom, midcentury modern abode — built in the 1950s and situated on about two acres of land — was previously owned by the 40-year-old actress' late mother, Marcheline Bertrand. Though Angelina was born in LA, she moved into the Rockland County home with her mom shortly after Marcheline and the star's father, Jon Voight, divorced in the early 80s.
