Robert Irwin ‘Stoked’ and ‘Really Honored’ Sister Bindi Wanted Him to Walk Her Down the Aisle
We’re so excited! Bindi Irwin‘s wedding is right around the corner and her brother, Robert Irwin, can’t wait to walk her down the aisle. Recently, he recalled the moment Bindi asked him to take on the role of their late dad, Steve Irwin, in her wedding to Chandler Powell.
“Oh, I was just so so stoked. I was so excited and really honored for her to ask me to walk her down the aisle,” the 15-year-old gushed to People. “I think its going to be such a wonderful day, such a great celebration. Chandler is absolutely perfect. I can’t fault him, he’s awesome.”
In July, Bindi announced her engagement to Chandler on her 21st birthday. “I said ‘yes’ & ‘forever’ to the love of my life,” she gushed via Instagram. “Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. Now let’s get married already!”
Shortly after she revealed the great news to the world, Bindi told Entertainment Tonight she only had one person in mind to walk her down the aisle, and that was her little brother Robert.

“I think that for me, it’ll be really important that Robert walks me down the aisle,” she said at the time. “That’s something that I really want to do. I’m always so grateful that Robert is there, and he has been such a big part of my life and he’s always stepped up and been the one to give me a hug when I need it and encourage me forward in life. So he will definitely be the one to walk me down the aisle when the time comes, and I think that will make it really special.”
Bindi added, “And I think that’s what dad would have wanted as well.”
The conservationist already has her wedding dress, her ring, and she already knows who’s going to be by her side when it’s time to walk down the aisle. The only thing left is for her to say, “I do.” We can’t wait!
