Baby fever is in the air! Peta Murgatroyd may already be a mother-of-one, but the former Dancing With the Stars pro revealed in a new interview that she and her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, definitely want to expand her brood sooner rather than later. “We kind of have to plan things around work, but I don’t want to wait too long,” the 33-year-old told Life & Style. “Maybe three to six months. Maks needs a little girl.

Peta and Maks, 38, are already proud parents to their adorable two-year-old son, Shai. “He’s the cutest little munchkin. I fall more in love with him every day,” she said. “People say he’s the perfect mix of me and Maks. He’s feisty like his dad, and then he’ll be watching a cartoon and one of the characters will cry and he’ll start to cry, and I’m like, ‘That’s so me.'”

Since welcoming baby Shai back in 2017, Peta has been adjusting to motherhood while getting ready to add baby No. 2 into the mix. “It puts everything into perspective,” the beauty gushed of new motherhood. “It also brings back memories from my childhood, like I’ll be grocery shopping with Shai and will remember being in the cheese aisle with my mom. It’s a little thing, but it brings all that love and joy back.”

However, Peta knows that being a mom to a little youngster isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. “It’s not easy,” Peta — who will make her acting debut later this month in the movie Faith, Hope & Love — said of being a working mom. “I have to have my whole day planned out before I leave the house.”

Either way, Peta wouldn’t trade motherhood for the world. And when things get too overwhelming or her marriage has taken a back seat, the New Zealand native knows when it times to take a break. “We do little getaway weekends. We can do whatever we want for 48 hours,” Peta said about keeping the spark alive with a baby at home. “You wake up and say, ‘Maybe I’ll spend two hours curling my hair today,’ or, ‘Wanna order room service? Let’s do it!’ Those things are really fun for us now!”
