Hoda Kotb Gives Her Mom a Kitchen Makeover for Mother’s Day

This Mother's Day, Hoda Kotb gave her mom, Sameha, quite a big surprise — a kitchen makeover!

"My mom is an amazing cook and she has this tiny little kitchen that she's had for…probably 20 years. That place is such the center, it's such the heartbeat of our family," the Today star, 50, said of her mother's outdated apartment kitchen.

With the help of a team of home renovation experts, Hoda was able to secretly transform Sameha's kitchen while she was away visiting NYC — a gift the star explained was both to commemorate Mother's Day and to thank her mom for all she's done for her throughout her life and career.

"I remember mom always telling me I can do anything, no matter what the thing was. You always felt like you could do anything," she said of her mom's unwavering support.

"To this day, [she's still there] with two pompoms believing in anything I can do. It's such a great feeling to know someone is with you and gets to witness your life — all of it," she continued.

When Hoda showed her mom her home's new renovations, Sameha could hardly believe her eyes! "Oh my god! This is not the same kitchen… that is so pretty," she exclaimed upon entering her updated apartment.
