Katherine Heigl Gushes About ’27 Dresses’ 10 Years Later: “One of My Favorite Projects!”

Though it's been 10 years (can you believe it?!) since 27 Dresses hit theaters, Katherine Heigl can't stop gushing about the fan-favorite movie! To celebrate the rom-com's anniversary, Katherine took to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 18 to share a series of pics from the film and pay tribute to one of her "favorite projects." She wrote, "It has been 10 whole years since I had the privilege of getting to be a part of one of my favorite projects, 27 Dresses! At the time, I was a 28-year-old gal planning her own wedding and wearing Invisalign to correct my snaggle teeth for the wedding pics."

Katherine continued, "Now I am a 39-year-old mother-of-three celebrating 10 years of marriage and letting my snaggle teeth make a comeback [because] I ultimately liked them better that way. Good lord, a hell of a lot can happen in 10 years! Happy 10 years, 27 Dresses! I had the time of my life being a part of your good old-fashioned romantic frivolity and am so grateful to have had the experience, made the friends, and kept the memories! #27Dresses." So sweet!

Not surprisingly, many of Katherine's two million Instagram followers commented on her post to also express their love for 27 Dresses! "That was the BEST movie. I still watch it from time to time. You were great!" one person wrote with another similarly adding, "One of my favorite movies ever. Such a classic!" Katherine starred alongside James Marsden, Malin Åkerman, Edward Burns, and Judy Greer in the beloved movie, which previously premiered in theaters on Jan. 18, 2008.

In a recent exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Malin, 39, revealed she, unfortunately, hasn't stayed in touch with her 27 Dresses co-star Katherine over the years, but it's always "so nice" to see her from time to time! "It's one of those that was so long ago and people get so busy. It is such crazy life, where you're traveling a lot and every now and then you bump into people that you've worked with and it's so nice to see them," Malin shared. "I saw her a few years back and it's always nice to see a co-star but we haven't been able to keep in touch, really — and you wind up having your own group of close friends you hang with for the most part and the rest is just nice acquaintances along the way." Maybe Malin and Katherine will reunite for a 27 Dresses sequel one day — we're keeping our fingers crossed!
