The 43-year-old beauty — who shares 16-year-old Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise — hasn’t been shy in the past about what her role as a mom means to her.

“When I’m not on set, I’m being a mom. I’m doing mom stuff,” the Batman Begins actress revealed to Modern Luxury in November 2016. “When I go to an event, I leave at 10 p.m. because it’s really important to me to be a mom that is dependable.”

Now that Suri is a teenager, she’s no longer be the little girl fans came to adore over the years. In fact, a source close to the mother-daughter duo revealed the growing youngster was a huge support system following Katie’s breakup with longtime boyfriend Jamie Foxx in August 2019.

“Katie’s doing just fine. Suri has asked about Jamie and her mom told her the truth, that she and Jamie have broken up,” the source exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly at the time of the shocking split. “Suri’s a lot more mature than people think.”

The source dished Suri “didn’t really question” her mom’s tough decision to end the former couple’s relationship after six years. “She trusts [Katie],” the insider explained.

Since she became a single lady again, Katie and Suri have been taking advantage of all their free time together. “Of course she misses having a partner by her side, Jamie was a lot of fun, but she and Suri are doing just fine,” a second course shared with Closer in December 2019. “Their bond is stronger than ever.”
