Kin Shriner Weighs in as ‘General Hospital’ Reveals What Really Happened to Scotty Baldwin

It’s been more than two years since General Hospital fans last laid eyes on Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), a character longtime fans of the 63-year-old soap watched grow from a child in the 1960s to an adult by the 1970s and have been following ever since. Now, we finally know what the Port Charles ambulance chaser has been up to lately.

Scotty’s Daughter Has an Update

Not only has Scotty not been seen since 2024, but he also hasn’t been spoken of — until the July 30th episode. Scotty’s daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger), returned to Port Charles, so Felicia (Kristina Wagner) asked how her dad has been. Serena informed Felicia that Scotty was now living in Key West, enjoying life on the ocean.

Coincidentally (or maybe not-so-coincidentally), Shriner, who has been bringing Scotty to life off and on for nearly half a century, has been spending time boating in Florida, and even shared a snap of himself by the Intracoastal Waterway on July 4th. After the Scotty update aired, Shriner took to X to get in on the Scotty Baldwin search party. “Key West done, Key Largo fun. Now I am riding the jungle queen in lauderdale!” he wrote, accompanied by a pic of Shriner holding a brochure for a boat tour. He used the hashtag, “#whereisScotty.

While Serena explained where her father has been, she never explained how he got there. The last fans saw of Scotty, he was under orders by John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) to take the pharmacist who Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) paid to mess with Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) bipolar meds to Spoon Island. In typical Scotty fashion, he made sure to make a snack run first.

When he got back to where John was holding the pharmacists, Scotty noticed Jason was there and hid. The next thing the audience saw was Scotty’s snacks on the floor, but no Scotty. Nobody ever asked what happened to him or mentioned he was missing. More than two years later, Scotty’s fate is finally known.
