Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly Opens Up About Husband Kyle Baugher and Private Life in Rare Comments

Kelly Reilly’s real-life marriage to Kyle Baugher is a lot different than the one she acts out on Yellowstone. The English actress made some rare comments about her husband in a recent interview, giving fans some insight on their private life away from the spotlight.

Prior to landing her showstopping role on Yellowstone, Kelly, 47, hoped to return to theater and move with her husband back to England.

“I have always loved my job, but the business can sometimes present challenges that I didn’t feel I was cut out for,” she told Town & Country in an interview published on Monday, November 18. “I just wanted to go back to theater and do two or three plays a year, and live ­quietly. That didn’t feel like a second prize. It felt like a choice, the life I wanted to have.”

Things changed drastically for Kelly when she made her debut as Beth Dutton in season 1 of Yellowstone in 2018. Kelly recalled reading the script for the first time.

“I remember reading it as I was packing up our apartment and thinking, Oh, s–t. It was like laying down a bit of a gauntlet. The challenge of it pepped my interest,” she said.

Things worked out for the True Detective alum, who is currently starring in the show’s fifth and final season. Now, she and Kyle have the best of both worlds, as they own homes in both New York and England and travel back and forth.

While there has been some drama surrounding the show, Kelly has decided to block out the noise.

“I don’t participate in the noise in any way. I stay out of it,” she told the outlet. “The only safe place for me is in the work — and then home with my husband. Very boring.”

“It can become a cyclone of bulls–t and fakeness, and I know I won’t find my worth in that,” she added.

But spending time with her husband is an escape from the hustle and bustle from Hollywood. On November 14, Kelly appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, and revealed her husband, whom she wed in 2012, was there to support her.

“He’s here somewhere. He’s probably hiding now. He’s in the building. So, yeah, I’ve been married for 12 years,” she told Drew Barrymore.

She also revealed how she met Kyle by chance at a wedding.

“Well, we met at his brother’s wedding. I was, a girlfriend of mine, I was in California at the time and there was this wedding in Marfa, Texas. And she said, do you want to go on a road trip? And I was like, yes,” Kelly explained. “And I think her boyfriend was out of town. So I got to be the plus one and I thought I’m gonna go riding because I’m a big horse rider in real life. And I had just been riding that morning and I still had like leather on my hands. I think I was a bit of a hot mess. I thought he was Texan. The wedding was in Texas.”

“He’s from Long Island and he’s the love of my life. And the most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to me is my marriage,” she said.
