Could Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, get any cuter?! To celebrate the Becoming author’s 55th birthday on Thursday, January 17, Barack, 57, shared a sweet throwback photo via Instagram of himself and Michelle when they were younger.

“I knew it way back then and I’m absolutely convinced of it today — you’re one of a kind, @MichelleObama. Happy Birthday!” he captioned the sweet snapshot of the two. Check out Barack’s adorable Instagram post for Michelle’s birthday below!

Michelle later followed up Barack’s heartwarming post by sharing a photo of a beautiful flower bouquet in front of a banner that read, “Happy Birthday.” Alongside the gorgeous pic, she thanked her fans for all of their support on her special day. “Thank you all so much for the birthday love — I love you all right back! Feeling so incredibly thankful for my South Side roots, my soul-affirming partner and daughters and every unimaginable twist and turn over these 55 years. Can’t wait to see what becomes of the next one!” she captioned the image.

Michelle and Barack have had one heck of a love story since they fell for each other in the South Side of Chicago. Years later, after they left the Oval Office, they’ve been falling in love with each other all other again.

“We have dinners alone and chunks of time where it’s just us — what we were when we started this thing: no kids, no publicity, no nothing. Just us and our dreams,” Michelle gushed in a previous interview with People, “We are finding each other again.”

While recently promoting her new book, Becoming, on Good Morning America, Michelle revealed that marriage counseling has greatly helped her relationship to Barack stay strong and said that she’s learned a lot about herself through the process, too. “What I learned about myself was, my happiness was up to me,” Michelle shared in November 2018. “And I started working out more, I started asking for help, not just from him but from other people.”
