Happy DIY Friday! This week, family member and natural lifestyle expert Sophie Uliano stopped by Hallmark Channel's hit daytime talk show Home & Family to demonstrate how to make two homemade remedies to bring you relief for your sore muscles. Check out the instructions for an innovative muscle scrub and balm below.

Sore Muscle Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Epsom Salt

  • 1 cup olive or grape seed oil

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 20 drops clove essential oil

Instructions:

  1. Pour salts into a 4 ounce jar.

  2. Mix in the remaining ingredients.

  3. To use: Scoop out about 1 tbsp of scrub into the palm of your hand.

  4. Massage into sore muscles under a hot shower.

Muscle Relaxing Balm

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 2 tsp beeswax

  • 2 tsp cocoa butter (or shea butter)

  • 15 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

  • 15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Instructions:

  1. Melt oil, wax and butter over a double-boiler.

  2. Remove from heat and stir in essential oils.

  3. Pour into an opaque jar.

  4. Store for up to 1 year in a cool, dark cabinet.
