Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Are All Smiles on Walk Amid Rumored Deborra-Lee Furness Divorce Drama

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster appear to be happier than ever that they’ve gone public with their romance, despite rumors of divorce drama between the Greatest Showman actor and ex Deborra-Lee Furness.

Hugh, 56, and Sutton, 49, were spotted holding hands and smiling while on a walk together in Los Angeles on January 8, according to photos published by The Daily Mail on Wednesday, January 15. Both were dressed in casual looks for the outing, with the Bunheads actress wearing a white crewneck sweatshirt, pink sweatpants and no makeup. Meanwhile, her boyfriend sported a gray East Hampton Gym crewneck top and navy blue pants. The couple laughed together and appeared to be enjoying each other’s company as they strolled down the street.

The pair’s outing came two days after they confirmed their relationship following months of speculation. Hugh and Sutton were seen holding hands as they stepped out for dinner in Santa Monica, California, on January 6, according to photos published by People.

The two were also spotted passionately kissing as they waited in a car in the drive-thru line at an In-N-Out restaurant in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 12, The Daily Mail reported.

Hugh and Sutton sparked relationship rumors amid their splits from their respective spouses. The Deadpool & Wolverine star and Deborra-Lee, 69, announced their separation after 27 years of marriage in September 2023.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” their joint statement read. “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority.”

Their statement concluded, “We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives. This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Despite their separation, Hugh and Deborra-Lee reportedly have yet to officially file for divorce, according to The Daily Mail. A source told the outlet that they are planning to file “in the next couple of weeks.”

“One of the biggest reasons why they haven’t yet filed is that they never had a prenup,” the insider continued. “When they got married, they thought it would be forever. Who doesn’t? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh’s career to get as enormous as it has. Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high. A lot of moving parts need to be worked out and there is a huge amount of money involved.”

While Hugh may get wrapped up in divorce drama soon, Sutton is already in the middle of a divorce from husband Ted Griffin after 10 years of marriage. She filed for dissolution of marriage in October 2024, and Ted, 54, filed counterclaims in December 2024, according to court documents obtained by In Touch.

Hugh and Sutton first sparked romance speculation when they costarred in Broadway’s revival of The Music Man in 2022. The dating rumors picked up again when they separated from their spouses. In December 2023, a source exclusively told Closer that Hugh and Sutton were taking the relationship “one day at a time.”

“They’re very passionate about each other and want the same things,” the insider said. “But they’re trying to move forward in a caring, considerate way.”
