‘Days of our Lives’ Exit Update: Two Beloved Characters’ Lives On the Line
‘Days of Lives’ stars Ashley Puzemis and Raven Bowens are exiting the show. Could Holly and Chanel’s current life-or-death storylines signal their dramatic exits?
Days of our Lives fans will be saying goodbye to two favorites later this year, but have their exit stories already begun? Two beloved heroines are currently fighting for their lives after shocking casting news was announced back in January.
Chanel and Holly’s Salem Futures
DAYS fans were stunned when news dropped that four younger stars had been let go from the 60-year-old Peacock soap, according to TV Insider. Leo Howard (Tate Black), Ashley Puzemis (Holly Jonas), Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera), and Raven Bowens (Chanel Dupree DiMera) all wrapped taping months ago, but will be airing into the fall due to the show’s long lead schedule. As of this writing, both Holly and Chanel are fighting for their lives in two very different storylines.
While Sarah now knows that Holly has been suffering from arsenic poisoning and is giving her the treatment she needs, there are no guarantees. Plus, the one dead flower from Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) and Holly’s own paranoia that Sophia might still be alive and after her could mean that Holly is not out of danger yet. Earlier this year, Sophia (Rachel Boyd) switched Holly’s skincare supplements with antipsychotics, causing Holly issues. Could all of these medication issues be part of Holly’s exit story?
Chanel’s problems are infinitely more complicated and real. Chanel was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant, limiting full treatment options until after she gave birth. With a fast-growing tumor, there are also no guarantees, with her pregnancy complicating the matter. Chanel has started chemotherapy, but has to wait until her baby is born to start immunotherapy, leaving fans to wonder if it will be too late to save her by then.
Boatman and Bowens both joined the DAYS cast back in 2021 as Johnny and Chanel, while Puzemis began playing Holly in 2023 and Howard took over for Jamie Martin Mann as Tate in 2024. While both Holly and Chanel could be written off with their leading men by having all four characters leave town, these life-or-death stories could foreshadow much more dramatic exits.
