LONDON, ENGLAND - JUNE 03: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge prepares to board the royal barge 'Spirit of Chartwell' during the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on June 3, 2012 in London, England. For only the second time in its history the UK celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of a monarch. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates the 60th anniversary of her ascension to the throne. Thousands of well-wishers from around the world have flocked to London to witness the spectacle of the weekend's celebrations. The Queen along with all members of the royal family will participate in a River Pageant with a flotilla of a 1,000 boats accompanying them down The Thames, the star studded free concert at Buckingham Palace, and a carriage procession and a service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral. Grandmothers can be an invaluable source of comfort in the first weeks of a newborn’s life — singing lullabies, changing diapers or just providing a shoulder for an exhausted mom to lean on.
The royal family is different, of course, with an endless supply of nannies on call to tend to every soiled diaper. But Kate Middleton and her mother, Carole Middleton, will have none of that when the Duchess of Cambridge's new baby arrives later this month.

After the birth of 20-month-old’s Prince George’s sibling, Kate’s parents will reportedly move into Kate and 32-year-old Prince William’s country house, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, England, with them — and do what grandparents do.

It’s no surprise. Kate, 33, and her mother have always had a special relationship, so she wouldn’t dream of excluding her from some of the most precious (and trying!) weeks of her life — even if Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles are baffled by the arrangement.

“Never before has it been such a shared experience with the inlaws,” Paul Burrell, former butler to William’s mother, Diana, tells 'Closer.' “This is a clear, strong signal of how important Carole is to Kate
and William.”
