After 17 Years, This ‘General Hospital’ Potential Pair Might Finally Have Its Shot
‘General Hospital’ fans notice unexpected chemistry between Dante Falconeri and Elizabeth Baldwin, hinting at a possible love triangle with Ric Lansing in the mix.
General Hospital fans have been buzzing about some unexpected chemistry between two longtime characters nobody ever thought of as a couple. For months, fans have been asking, ” Will they or won’t they?” when it comes to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). While Dante and Liz have certainly crossed paths before, it has been on the periphery of each other’s stories. Now, something different seems to be happening, so will the cop and the nurse find themselves falling in love?
Dante and Elizabeth Offer a Surprise
Rebecca Herbst has been playing Elizabeth since 1997, while Dominic Zamprogna has been bringing Dante to life since 2009. In all that time, fans have never thought of them as a potential couple, as they have mainly led separate lives. But something new started happening in February when Dante found that Elizabeth was easy to talk to when he just needed help with a case or to confide in someone.
He knew she was starting to see Ric Lansing again and warned Elizabeth that he could be trouble, but Liz didn’t care and is now in a full-fledged romance with Ric (Rick Hearst). Will that stop her from seeing Dante? For now, they are friends, but Dante is looking at Elizabeth differently than Elizabeth has been looking at Dante. That doesn’t mean things won’t change.

“To me, it’s interesting because they’ve never really explored anything between Dante and Elizabeth before,” Zamprogna said in an interview with Michael Fairman TV. “That’s the most exciting part of any relationship, the new stuff, before you jump into the domesticated stuff. That’s maybe where Ric and Elizabeth are…whereas Dante and Elizabeth truly are kind of needing each other at this moment.”
After a scene together in February, Dante watched Elizabeth walk off and smiled in a different sort of way, as if he were noticing her for the first time. In May, Dante definitely noticed when Elizabeth visited his office dressed up for a date with Ric.
“It’s two people who don’t have a romantic relationship, but planting those little seeds of her coming in and him seeing her out of her scrubs for the first time and being like, Oh my, God You look amazing,'” Zamprogna said. “And then as the scene ends, they’re kind of wrapped up in things, and then he is like, ‘I could keep talking to you forever, but she has a date to get to with Ric.”
From the sounds of things, General Hospital fans might have a new triangle waiting in the wings to look forward to.
