Kathie Lee Gifford’s Colleagues Are Petitioning for Her to Get a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
If there’s anyone who deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame it’s Kathie Lee Gifford! On Thursday, Aug. 23, the official KLG and Hoda Instagram page posted a sweet photo of the Today co-host and wrote, “We’d like to start a petition to get KLG a star on the #WalkOfFame! Who’s with us?!” And we couldn’t agree more!
Today fans immediately gushed about how great it would be for Kathie Lee, 65, to get a star in the image’s comments section. “Yes, please! She is a National Treasure,” one follower wrote and another added, “Absolutely! She deserves one as much as anyone. I love [that] she is not afraid to talk about her faith. It’s inspiring.” A third fan similarly wrote, “She needs a star on the Walk of Fame. I would vote for her. She deserves it. She has paid her dues, it would be great for her name to be on the Walk of Fame.”

Though there were many positive comments about KLG getting a coveted star, a few fans begged to differ. “When taking into account that Julia Roberts, Leo DiCaprio, Carrie Fisher, [Oprah Winfrey], [Whitney Houston], Beyoncé, Prince, Missy Elliot, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Denzel, Spike Lee, Will Smith, and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN do not have one! ALL who should have had a star LIKE YESTERDAY! All I can say is Kathie Lee who?!?” one follower commented.
Despite a lot of celebs still waiting to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Kathie Lee has achieved a lot of success in her 40-year-career. She’s been nominated for an Emmy 11 times and, before she was a co-host on Today, she co-hosted Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee for 15 years. Not to mention that she is also a New York Times bestselling author, has starred in the hit Broadway production, Annie, and owns her own record label.
Her longtime friend Hoda Kotb has gushed that she loves working with Kathie Lee on the morning show every day. “I keep having out of body experiences when I’m looking at Kath,” she previously told People. “We just laugh all the time and it’s ridiculous.”
