When Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot in April 2011, their little flower girls stole the show! One such special royal wedding attendant was Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter and William’s first cousin Lady Louise Windsor. Today, seven years after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s lavish nuptials, Louise is all grown up and such a gorgeous teenager!
Earlier this week, Lady Louise, now 14, made headlines for making a rare public appearance with her mom, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, for the Association of Sail Training Organisations sailing day in Gosport, England. The young royal was also recently photographed looking all grown up alongside her famous cousins at the annual Trooping the Colour event celebrating the Queen’s birthday in early June.

Lady Louise was born Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor on Nov. 8, 2003. Her parents are Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Edward is the fourth and youngest child of Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip.
In a previous interview, Louise’s mom, Sophie, cutely revealed her daughter just recently realized her grandmother is the Queen of England. “For Louise, actually, it was much more of a shock to the system,” Sophie explained. “She was coming home from school and saying, ‘Mummy, people keep on telling me that grandma is the Queen.'”

“[Louise said she] ‘didn’t understand.’ I don’t think she had grasped that perhaps there was only one Queen,” the Countess, who is also a mom to 10-year-old son James, Viscount Severn, added.
“Certainly when [my children] were very young [my husband and I] tried to keep them out of it,” Sophie said of protecting Louise and James from the public eye. “Only because for their sakes, to grow up as normally as possible we felt was quite important.”

“And they’re going to have to go out and get a job and earn a living later on in life and if they’ve had a normal a start in life they possibly can get, then hopefully that will stand them in good stead,” Sophie added.
