Meghan McCain Sounds Off on Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s ‘Dangerous’ Comments About Coronavirus

Shots fired! Meghan McCain called out Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s “dangerous” comments on coronavirus during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, April 22. The View star got a little fired up when asked for her thoughts on Elisabeth, 42, suggesting we should “pray” the virus away.

“Somebody actually sent me a screenshot of my face when she said that,” the pregnant mom to be, 35, dished to host Andy Cohen.

“I took this virus seriously from the very beginning and I thought a lot of this rhetoric was really dangerous,” Meghan passionately continued. “I think it’s really, really unfortunate and dangerous that she said that.”

Meghan seemed so ticked off by the Fox and Friends star’s comments, she even insisted she has no interest in working together in the future.

“I don’t need to cohost with her again, and it’s unfortunate, because I’ve been a huge fan for a long time,” she explained. “Anybody who is screwing around with this virus and putting out misinformation, I don’t really have a lot of time for right now.”

As The View fans can recall, Elisabeth joined stars Meghan, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin for the March 11 episode. At the time, the Survivor alum caused quite the controversy after seemingly downplaying the severity of the COVID-19 outbreak.

“I think there can be a fine line between what is precaution, what is taking precaution and what is panic,” Elisabeth stated. “Yes, we’re going to take precautions, we’re going to [use] Purell, pray that God’s got us in our tomorrows. We pray that this coronavirus is extinguished, that it stops in its tracks.”

Also during her visit to WWHL, Meghan revealed she’s about four months along in her first pregnancy. The daughter of late senator John McCain — who is expecting her first child with husband Ben Domenech — can’t take any chances with catching the deadly virus.

“I consulted with my doctors and they advised me that for the safety of our baby and myself, I should be extra vigilant about limiting the amount of people we come in contact with,” The blonde beauty wrote on Instagram shortly after sharing her pregnancy news. “Starting immediately I’ll be joining the millions of Americans who are self-isolating as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
