Meghan McCain’s Husband Has Great ‘Family Values’! Get to Know Writer Ben Domenech

Since Meghan McCain revealed she was expecting her first baby with husband Ben Domenech, everyone has been wondering who her soulmate is. Well, Ben is a writer, radio host, conservative pundit and now, a dad of one.

The View star and the Federalist founder welcomed their daughter in September 2020. “We are excited to share the happy news that our @MeghanMcCain and her husband, Ben Domenech, have welcomed their first child, daughter Liberty Sage McCain Domenech!” The View tweeted at the time.

Following the birth, ABC News reported “both mother and baby Liberty” were “healthy and doing well.” The exciting arrival came just six months after the duo first shared the news of the star’s pregnancy.

“My husband Ben and I have been blessed to find out I’m pregnant,” Meghan wrote via Instagram in late March. “Although this isn’t how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share the news with you all.”

Because the Dirty Sexy Politics author and the “Federalist Radio Hour” host are tight-lipped when it comes to their romance, not a lot is known about the beginning of their relationship. Fortunately, Meghan gave fans a glimpse inside their special wedding day in late November 2017.

The doting mom and handsome hunk tied the knot during a romantic ceremony at the McCain family’s lodge in Arizona. The nuptials were held just weeks after Meghan confirmed their engagement.

“You may have read something about me on the Internet last night. I’m engaged!” she revealed on The View earlier in November 2017. “We’ve been together for years. We’ve been engaged for a while and it’s a secret. I was hoping to get married and people wouldn’t find out, but people talk sometimes.”

Not only that, but Meghan revealed how Ben got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. “We were at Mayo Clinic, and my father had his scan, and we got engaged because we decided to sort of celebrate life and celebrate being alive,” she explained. “It’s not the most romantic story, but he is my partner.”

It seems these two are in it for the long haul. Meghan cited how she and Ben want to raise their daughter closer to their family and friends in Washington, D.C. as her reason why she decided to leave New York-based The View. In her July 1, 2021, announcement, the host revealed about the nation’s capital, “We have this incredible life here. We’re surrounded by my family, his family, friends, this incredible support unit.”

She added, “I think as any new mom knows, when I think about where I want Liberty to have her first steps and first words, I just have this really wonderful life here that I felt like ultimately I didn’t want to leave,” as to why the couple will be calling Washington, D.C. their permanent home.
