Pattie Boyd is sharing a surprising moment of jealousy from her marriage to Beatles legend George Harrison.
During the Tuesday, May 19, episode of the Miss O’Dell: Abbey Road to Tulsa Timepodcast, the model and photographer, 82, reflected on how intense fame affected their 11-year relationship during the height of Beatlemania.
“I know George was rather upset one time when I was on the cover of one of the trashy newspapers,” Boyd recalled during the candid conversation.
According to Boyd, Harrison couldn’t understand why she landed the attention-grabbing cover instead of him.
“He couldn’t believe that they would put me on the paper and not him,” she shared.

“Jealousy comes in many, many different forms. It’s very odd,” Boyd added.
The former couple first met in 1964 on the set of A Hard Day’s Night before marrying two years later in 1966. Their high-profile relationship eventually ended in divorce in 1977.
As Closer previously reported, three of rock music’s most iconic love songs — the Beatles’ “Something” and Eric Clapton‘s “Layla” and “Wonderful Tonight” — were famously inspired by Boyd, whose romances with Harrison and Clapton fueled one of music history’s most legendary love triangles. Boyd later married Clapton in 1979 after the musician famously fell for her while still close friends with Harrison. However, they eventually divorced in 1989.

Boyd, who went on to marry Rod Weston in 2015, is also preparing to see her love story revisited onscreen in Sam Mendes‘ upcoming Beatles biopics, though she admitted on the podcast that no one from the productions has reached out to her yet — despite Aimee Lou Wood being cast to play her.
“Now, I might be completely wrong, but I would’ve thought it would be polite to mention it to me or let me know as if they’ve got someone who’s going to be playing me,” Boyd added.
