Shemar Moore Breaks Silence on His Breakup With Longtime Love Jesiree Dizon: ‘It’s True’

Shemar Moore has broken his silence on his surprising breakup from longtime girlfriend, Jesiree Dizon.

“There’s been a lot of press releases that hit today or yesterday talking about my personal life, my private life, my life, with Jesiree Dizon,” Shemar, 54, said in a video shared to Instagram on Friday, January 31. “It’s my life. It’s not your business, but I know how Hollywood works. I know how all this media stuff works. It’s gossip, gossip, gossip, and that’s just what it is. Be careful what you wish for. You know what you signed up for type of thing.”

The S.W.A.T. actor continued, “So the press release was that me and Jesiree are no longer a couple and we live separately – that we’ve broken up. Well, it’s true. It’s true, but what you don’t know, what you don’t need to know either, but I need to say it. I spent five years with Jesiree Dizon. She’s an amazing woman for so many reasons. Next to my mother, because my mother was a boss, Jesiree Dizon is No. 2. She is a phenomenal mother – loving, attentive, caring, smart, nurturing.”

Shemar explained that while “breaking up isn’t easy,” he was only “looking for love in [his] life.”

“Me and Jesiree love each other and that’s not going to change until the day God calls my name. She’s wonderful in so many ways. Yes, we have our differences but we’re gonna love each other and love the hell out of our daughter, Frankie,” the Young and the Restless alum added.

Jesiree, 41, and Shemar met several years ago, but he wasn’t sure he was ready to settle down at the time. However, after his mother died in 2020, the two reconnected and rekindled their relationship.

In 2023, Shemar and Jesiree welcomed their first child, daughter Frankie, together. The Dollface actress has daughter Charli and son Kaiden from previous relationships. Shemar could hardly contain his excitement about Frankie when he spoke with Entertainment Tonight in February 2024.

“I get the opportunity to be Daddy. And now, it’s not about me anymore,” the former Criminal Minds star told the outlet. “Now everything I do is for her … I got the most amazing, beautiful little lady … [and] she’s a happy lady.”

Shemar continued, “This was my mother’s dream. She was proud of me for my success and the things that I’ve done, but she always said to me, ‘The best of you will come out when you have a child.’ So now, I get that opportunity. I’m sorry that they don’t coexist, but I know she’s up there, proud.”

Despite their lengthy relationship, Shemar admitted that he wasn’t sure if marriage was ever in the cards for himself and Jesiree.

“I didn’t have a good role model of marriage in my life. Not my mother, not my father. Nobody close to me. I struggle with ‘Who made that rule?’ I asked my mother one time. I’m like, ‘If people get married, then what’s this prenup thing? Oh, I love you. You’re the most amazing person in the world but sign this. So you don’t trust the person?’” Shemar said during an interview People published in November 2024.

He added that while “tomorrow” wasn’t “guaranteed,” the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 star was more than willing to give Jesiree “everything he’s got today and tomorrow.”
