Remember that episode on The Office where Michael is pulling into work and he hits Meredith with his car? Well, it has taken some time but it seems that Michael has finally been hit with karma.

Steve Carell, who of course played Michael Scott on the classic comedy show, recently made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in order to have a good old chat with Ellen. While Steve was there to promote his film, Welcome to Marwen, the conversation somehow turned into Steve admitting that a fan actually hit him with a car. Oh, and this was while Steve was out biking. “I was riding and it was a pretty fast road,” the 56-year-old said. “And I made a turn and I didn’t see the car behind me, and they hit me from behind. And so I went up over the handlebars and I — It’s a weird experience because everything just slowed down. And I thought, ‘Well, I’m gonna tuck and roll,’ and I rolled. And I got up and I was fine.” I’m pretty sure Steve also took a similar tumble in the 40-Year-Old Virgin.

Steve continued, “And the woman who was driving the car jumped out. She was distraught, obviously. And I went over to her. And my bike was sort of stuck under the front of the car and she says, ‘Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Oh, my God! It’s Steve Carell! And she was so excited that she hit me.” Well, any fan of any celebrity would be honored and excited to hit them with their car, right? Right.

And because Ellen is all about giving she decided to give the actor a few gifts because it is the holiday season. Steve got a helmet and a vest, covered in reflectors. Now he should have no problem biking through the town. “No one is gonna hurt you now,” Ellen said. And whether you’re going to walk, drive, or bike to see Steve’s movie, Welcome to Marwen, you should know that it will be released Dec. 21. And now I think it’s only right we wrap this article up by reminding you how Steve almost killed Meredith.

“Occasionally I’ll hit somebody with my car. So sue me… No, don’t sue me.”
