Susan Sarandon Loves Being A Grandma To Daughter Eva Amurri Martino’s Kids: ‘They’re Divine’ (EXCLUSIVE)

In her new film, Viper Club, Susan Sarandon plays a war correspondent’s mother, but the 72-year-old actress’ favorite role may be as real-life grandma to her daughter Eva Amurri Martino‘s two adorable kids, Marlowe Martino, 4, and Major Martino, who turns two years old in October. 

“They are thriving,” Susan exclusively told Closer Weekly at the recent Inaugural Together heart Gala in NYC. “Marlowe is just so funny — she’s a fierce little clown and so articulate. And Major’s really showing his personality. They’re divine. I love them.”

So what does she like to do with daughter Eva’s kids the most? “Just hanging with them — Marlowe thinks everything is funny and she’s absolutely fearless,” Susan gushed. “Major is into doing people’s hair and cleaning at the moment, so I don’t know how long that will last.” 

Though Susan is a mom-of-three herself — she also shares sons Jack Robbins, 29, and Miles Robbins, 26, with ex Tim Robbins — the actress has admitted being a grandmother is “so much easier” than being a mother. “It’s so much easier, so much easier [being a grandmother],” she once confessed to Today. During that same interview, Eva 33, also adorably revealed that her children don’t call Susan “Grandma” and call her “Honey” instead!

When it comes to her own parenting, Susan also once admitted that she’s gotten a ton of bad parenting advice over the years. During a previous chat with Good Housekeeping, the star revealed the worst advice she was ever given came right before she had her first child, daughter Eva. “I think it was ‘Don’t have the baby,’ as though it would ruin my career, and I was so old anyway,” Susan said. 

Today, Susan couldn’t be happier with her children and grandchildren. “All my kids have a sense of humor,” she has said of her family. “I even have a clown nose for having serious conversations — it stops you from getting emotionally loaded.”
