Meghan McCain Still Can’t Go Home to Arizona After John McCain’s Death: ‘I Miss You Every Single Day’
While it has been some time since John McCain‘s death, his passing is still very fresh for daughter Meghan McCain — so much show that she can’t go back home.
The TV personality, 34, took to Instagram to share a sweet video of the late politician showing her husband, Ben Domenech, how to BBQ. “241 days. I made you teach Ben how to grill your dry ribs because I knew at some point you wouldn’t be able to,” The View cohost captioned the clip on Tuesday, April 23. “I miss you every. single. day. I still can’t go back home to Arizona.” Plenty of lovely words poured in from people all over the world in response.
“Hang on to the memories. Praying that home will bring you comfort soon,” one fan said. Another responded, “Go back Meghan. You won’t regret it. It will be hard but you are stronger.” “I think your courage is amazing in all you do!” one person stated. The My Dad, John McCain author wasn’t the only family member impacted by the U.S. senator’s death, as her mom, Cindy McCain, was also quite affected.
“I love you, Mom @cindymccain,” Meghan wrote in an Instagram post shared on January 13. “Grateful for your love, strength, never-ending support, and always knowing how to perfectly wear black turtlenecks and Chanel. You’re the toughest and most resilient of us all. Thank you for selflessly guiding us through and being a bright light in so much dark.” The message resided beside a photo of her parents together.

Meghan has been very open about her grieving in the past. She once revealed just how tough it was to speak at her father’s funeral. “I can never do anything like that again, ever,” the former Fox News contributor said during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “It was so intense. I’ve never taken drugs, but it’s what I imagine being on drugs would have been like. You just look out and there’s every president, notable figure.”
“And when I was walking up I was like, ‘I can’t believe my father wanted me to do this.’ I really wanted to be in the moment. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life and by far the hardest and worst,” she added.
John passed away at the age of 81 after a tough battle with brain cancer.
