Bill Cosby’s Rep Says Actor Is Doing ‘Great’ Following Sentencing: ‘He Knows That These Are Lies’

After being sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison on Tuesday, Sept. 25, Bill Cosby’s spokesperson revealed how he’s handling the news. The disgraced actor, 81, was taken into custody after Judge Steven T. O’Neil maintained he is a “sexually violent predator.” 

“Mr. Cosby is doing great,” Bill’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt revealed. “And Mr. Cosby knows that God is watching over him. He knows that these are lies. They persecuted Jesus and looked what happened. Not saying Mr. Cosby is Jesus. But we know what this country has done to black men for centuries. So Mr. Cosby is doing fine. He is holding up well. And everybody who wants to say anything negative, you’re a joke as well.”

More than 60 women have accused Bill of sexual assault, but he recently stood trial for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman, Andrea Constand, at his home 14 years ago. Back in April, Bill was convicted and found guilty of aggravated indecent assault for the incident in 2004, and he arrived at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, PA, located just outside of Philadelphia, on Monday, Sept. 24, to await his sentencing. 

“No one ever expects anything like this, but I want to say a few words, if that’s OK,” Wyatt said, while beginning his statement after the verdict. “I believe and think it is important to point out that this has been the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States. Dr. Cosby has been one of the greatest civil rights leaders in the United States for over the last 50 years. He’s also been one of the greatest educators of men and boys over the last 50 years.”

“This was not pointed out to the jury or allowed in court because the racist and sexist mass media was attacking and denouncing Dr. Cosby whenever his lawyers even hinted there was racism and sexism present,” Wyatt continued. “All three of the psychologists who testified against Dr. Cosby were white women who make money off of accusing black men of being sexual predators.” 

Despite Wyatt’s views on the case, the former TV star was denied bail and whisked away in cuffs on Sept. 25. “It is time for justice, Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you,” Judge O’Neill said. “The day has come. The time has come.”
