Brooke Shields Opens up About Modeling at Age 52 — “It Feels Just as Exciting 37 Years Later!”

Age is just a number! Don't believe us? Ask Brooke Shields. The 52-year-old model is still working after years of being in the industry. While some might have let their age stop them from continuing their career in Hollywood, Brooke feels empowered by still modeling today. She recently opened up to Closer Weekly in an exclusive new interview about what it's really like to model at 52.

"[Modeling now] has been great — it’s very positive,” she enthused to Closer at the Accessories Council’s ACE Awards on Monday, Aug. 7 in NYC. "It feels just as exciting 37 years later that people are still interested!"

In the 1980s, a then-15-year-old Brooke appeared in a series of provocative commercials where she said nothing came between her and her Calvin Klein jeans. Naturally, she jumped at the opportunity to appear in the designer's recent lingerie campaign. She explained,"It was new then and it feels new now.”

But, when it comes to her two daughters entering the 'biz, Brooke's not in a rush to have them follow in her footsteps. In fact, she wants Rowan, 14, and Grier, 11, to focus on being kids and keeping their schedules full of fun and activities. “They don’t have the time!” she said.

It makes sense that Brooke is so protective of her children. Earlier this year, she revealed that no matter what level of success she achieved, her children would always be the most important part of her life. "Being with my children is one of the purest joys that I have," she gushed about her two girls. But, it seems like she's also found quite a lot of happiness in her career! "Modeling is the world I feel most welcome in," she added.
