When you know, you know. And that’s exactly what Al Roker‘s daughter Courtney Roker felt when her boyfriend, Wesley Laga, asked her for her hand in marriage. But they aren’t the only ones who got engaged in 2020. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are getting ready to walk down the aisle, as well as many other Hollywood couples!
Peter Facinelli and his now-fiancée, Lily Anne Harrison, kicked off the year when they announced their engagement in early January. According to Peter’s rep, the Nurse Jackie alum asked the Good Deeds star to be his wife during a romantic dinner at a beach in Mexico.
“Both are beyond elated and are very much looking forward to all that the New Year will bring,” his rep told People. After their dinner, Lily shared photos of the beautiful moment on Instagram. “Not a bad way to ring in the New Year with my sweetheart,” she captioned one post.
Wesley’s proposal to Courtney was just as sweet. He had to get a little creative, though, considering they couldn’t make it to Paris in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Wesley originally planned to pop the question in the City of Love, but he found a better way to propose safely at home.
“Wes brought Paris to me with the music, lights and [a] live cam shot of the Eiffel Tower on our TV,” Courtney captioned an Instagram post showing off her new ring. “I said yes to my best friend last night and I am over the moon! Thank you, Wes, for making me your partner in crime for life. I love you.”
Al was “so thrilled” about his daughter’s engagement. The Today star’s colleagues also expressed their joy on social media. “Amazing! Congrats to Courtney, it’s so nice to have good news during this time,” Natalie Morales said, while Savannah Guthrie added, “WOW!”
