More Exciting Details on Chip and Joanna Gaines’ TV Network: ‘We Want Programming That Brings Families Together’

If you’ve been missing Chip and Joanna Gaines from your small screen ever since they wrapped up new episodes Fixer Upper, we have good news. You don’t have to worry because the dynamic duo will soon be getting their very own TV network — and it’s time you learn all of the details!

Discovery, Inc. and Magnolia, the latter of which is a home and lifestyle brand owned by the couple, recently announced that in summer 2020 the pair’s new network will replace the DIY Network, currently in more than 52 million U.S. homes. Talk about expanding your name! This channel will not only feature programming focusing on home, garden, food, community, wellness, design and more, but fans will also be able to find every episode of the pair’s successful HGTV show, too.

The pair will serve as chief creative officers, while current HGTV president Allison Page will serve as president of the new joint venture.

“Our intention with this network is to create and curate content that inspires, encourages, and helps to build bridges across our communities,” Chip, 44, and Joanna, 40, said in a joint statement. “We want honest, authentic programming that brings families together. We believe David Zaslav [CEO of Discovery] and the team at Discovery are the perfect partners for this ambitious joint venture, and we know Allison Page is the right person to lead this charge. We’re ready to get started and are expectant for all that’s ahead.”

David also seems quite excited about this, saying in a statement: “Chip and Joanna Gaines have become trusted, household names since the debut of Fixer Upper and through this joint venture, Discovery is proud to extend our relationship with them. Sounds like Chip and Joanna will be quite busy — and that’s just on the career-end of things. On the home side, they are parents to five kids: Drake, 14, Ella Rose, 12, Duke, 10, Emmy Kay, 9, and baby Crew, 9 months. In fact, all of the kids already have the same entrepreneurial spirit as their folks. “I always try to involve them with what we’re doing at work,” Joanna once told People, adding that each child has a task to do.

Joanna added, “Each kid has their own thing. Drake loves the production side, so in the summer he’s up with the guys, and they’re teaching him how to edit. Then Ella is like me. I think she’ll follow in my footsteps and have her hand in a lot of things. Right now she wants to cook, be a lead designer and have a donut truck.” As for Duke and Emmy, they are all about talking with customers!

Maybe in a few years their kids will have their own TV network, too!
