‘The Crown’ Star Claire Foy Sadly Reveals Separation From Husband Stephen Campbell

The curtain has fallen on Claire Foy's marriage. The actress, who we fell in love with in Netflix's The Crown, announced on Feb. 22 that she has separated from her husband Stephen Campbell. The duo has been married for four years and walked countless red carpets together, but it turns out that they have been hiding their marriage problems for a while now.

"We have separated and have been for some time," she confirmed in a statement to Metro UK. "We do however continue as great friends with the utmost respect for one another." They will also have to work together to co-parent their two-year-old daughter, Ivy Rose.

"After seven years together this came as a real shock to many of their friends, but they’re lovely people and are determined to keep everything civilized," an insider told The Sun. “Obviously it has been a very sad period for both of them, and for their wider families, but they are wonderful parents, intelligent and both successful in their own right. They’ve just decided that unfortunately their relationship simply wasn’t working and that this would be for the best."

The couple has been under a lot of pressure in the last year. While Claire's career blew up after playing Queen Elizabeth II on the hit show, Stephen had a health crisis. He learned he had a brain tumor and recently underwent surgery. During the struggle, Claire was filming for The Crown, which made it extra stressful. Stephen is also an actor, and the pair met while starring in Season of the Witch in 2011. Our heart breaks for the couple!
