Days of Our Lives legacy star Hank Northrop is hitting the big screen with an important story.

Northrop took to Instagram to announce his participation in Boatlife 9/11, alongside his co-stars Sofia Helin and Presley Elliott.

The film tells the untold story of America’s largest water evacuation of Manhattan following the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

The film follows Jan (Helin) and her daughter Brit (Elliott) as they work together on a tugboat in New York Harbor when the unthinkable happens: two airliners crash into the Twin Towers. As the story progresses, they continue to help survivors evacuate from the city and work alongside other vessels to help transport over 500,000 people to safety.

Boatlife 9/11 is written by Tricia Aurand and directed by Dale Fabrigar.

Speaking of participating in the film, Northrop shared on Instagram, “What an incredible honor to be part of such a powerful and meaningful story.”

Northrop is the son of former Days of Our Lives stars Wayne Northrop (Roman Brady) and Lynn Herring (Lisanne Gardner, best known for her portrayal of Lucy Coe on General Hospital).

The actor followed in his parents’ footsteps and joined the cast of Days of Our Lives in 2025 as Liam Selejko, the son of Ivy Selejko (Holly Gagnier).

Liam has had a complicated life. He was in and out of jail from a young age and is described as the school system leaving him behind, as he doesn’t know how to read. But as a condition of his release, he is working with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) to learn how to read.

He is also a father to his son Gage and has expressed romantic interest in Arianna Horton (Vico Escorcia).

Northrop’s professional credits go back to 2014 when he appeared on an episode of Criminal Minds. Since then, he has appeared on various series, including My Crazy Ex, The Bold and the Beautiful, and 9-1-1: Lone Star, and in feature films such as Severed Road and, most recently, Michael.

Boatlife 9/11 is expected to be released on September 11, 2026.

Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
