Alan Ritchson may be busy filming films and TV shows like the Amazon Prime series Reacher, but the actor always prioritizes time for fatherhood. The North Dakota native shares three kids with his wife, Catherine Ritchson, whom he married in 2006. Often sharing family moments on social media, Alan has given fans a glimpse inside his family life as he and Catherine raise sons Calem Ritchson, Edan Ritchson, and Amory Ritchson.

The couple enjoyed six beautiful years of marriage before expanding their family and welcoming Calem in 2012. Edan joined the crew in 2013, followed by Amory two years later.

While the births of his eldest sons didn’t make it on Instagram, Alan announced the birth of his youngest son, Amory, to fans alongside a black and white photo while holding the newborn in his arms.

“Most of you probably have no idea that I’m married and have two amazing little boys (Calem 3yrs and Edan 1.5yrs.) But today, the strongest person I know, @catritchson gave birth to our newest addition, Amory Tristan Ritchson. Say hello!” the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star captioned the December 13, 2015, post. “He weighs in at a cool 7 lbs 12 ozs and is only allowed to be a football player or a rapper. Love you Amory. Say hi to a world in need of more joy, innocence and love, like you.”

Alan Ritchson Credits Wife Catherine With Making ‘Holiday Magic’ for Their Kids

Amory lost his tooth on Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2022, and Alan forgot to put money under his pillow from the Tooth Fairy. Older brother Calem told Catherine about Alan’s forgetfulness, leading mom to come in and save the day.

“In my defense, this is all happening at least two days ahead of nature’s organic tooth reduction schedule. This kid is savage. But I’m shaken awake, rather violently, on this most romantic of holidays. She bellowed, ‘Forget to tell me our kid lost a tooth!? Calem said we ruined Amory’s life!’” Alan recalled. “I act like I’m still asleep. She doesn’t buy it. ‘You want to know how I just saved us!?’ (Still faking sleep, she keeps talking like I’m looking at her.)”

Catherine told Alan that she won parent of the year when she “grabbed some dollar bills and stuffed them under the Valentine’s Day basket” and “told [Calem] the tooth fairy must’ve left the money where the other gifts were.”

Alan Ritchson Shares the Dirty Side of Parenthood

In 2024, Alan shared a video via Instagram after a messy car mishap. Calem got nauseous during a car ride and vomited all over the vehicle, leading the Smallville alum to clean up the mess. Despite the inconvenience, Alan made it clear that there was no reason to get upset.

“It took everything in me not to lose my mind because he had a barf bag in his hand and covered our escalade in vomit. But the important thing here to remember, and I said this to him, ‘We cannot let our material things that can be cleaned with a little simple green get in the way of an opportunity to love on those who are who are puking,’” Alan said. “So, anyway, I just want to throw that out there. Just remember, dads, don’t get mad if something happens to your car. It’s not that important.”
