Dr. Oz Reveals Oprah Helped Him Through Latest Medical Credibility Controversy
In the wake of recent accusations made against Dr. Oz's medical integrity, the TV personality confessed a close celebrity friend has helped him through this tough time — Oprah Winfrey.
"Oprah's a very supportive woman. She's very mothering," Dr. Oz — who was a contributor on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' in 2008 until he received his own program under the media mogul's production company in 2009 — said in a new interview on Thursday, April 30.

Late last month, the star came under fire when a group of prominent medical professionals penned an email to Columbia University asking him to be removed from the school's college of physicians and surgeons for promoting "quack treatments and cures in the interest of personal financial gain."

Earlier this week, reports emerged that Oprah, 61, had canceled the physician's radio show following the attacks on his medical credibility. But, a spokesperson for Harpo, Oprah's production company, dismissed the rumors by stating, "Harpo Radio ended in December 2014. As a part of its closure, we mutually agreed to end our relationship with Westwood One who will distribute 'A Daily Dose with Dr. Oz' through June 1."

The father-of-four, 54, further noted he's received unconditional support from his wife of 30 years, Lisa Lemole. "She's the best… She calms me down, because you know the perspective around a lot of these things is important. You need someone to pull you back and say, 'It's never as good as it seems, it's never as bad as it seems.' It is what it is," he told 'People.'
