Sean Hannity of Fox News took to social media to address speculation and concern that had started swirling online over his appearance. Some fans had expressed worries about Hannity, 64, looking unwell.

On June 24, Hannity addressed what some people had noticed. He posted his statement on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, “While training, I developed a painful pinched nerve in my neck. My doctor put me on prednisone to reduce the inflammation.”

Hannity noted that the prednisone is helping, but “it led to laryngitis and some puffiness, which is normal for this medication.” He added, “I’m fine, recovering well, and still training.”

The Fox personality thanked everybody who had checked in on him and noted he had addressed the concerns more than once on his radio show, as well.

He quipped, “Apparently a few weeks of prednisone has generated more social media commentary than 30 years of ratings success.”

Hannity wrote that he appreciated the concern and well wishes, and promised, “a pinched nerve, raspy voice, and a puffy face aren’t taking me out anytime soon.”

As Hannity detailed in his tweet, he has spoken about the treatment and side effects on his radio show. During the June 16 episode of The Sean Hannity Show, the controversial political commentator revealed he has been on prednisone and experienced laryngitis before.

Hannity said prednisone is “a horrible medicine, the worst ever, that flushes your face, makes you bloated, hungry, irritable, and you know, ravenous for any food you can put in your stomach.”

As the Mayo Clinic indicates, prednisone is used to treat inflammation and several other conditions. “It works on the immune system to help relieve swelling, redness, itching, and allergic reactions.”

Hannity admitted he had been trying to avoid needing to take prednisone with this latest medical issue. He explained on his radio show that he resists taking days off and “was doing my level best to plow through” the laryngitis. Unfortunately, this time, the Fox News personality couldn’t do it without the prednisone.

“I apologize to everybody, and I do appreciate the good words of wishing me well…I promise you there’s nothing serious going on,” Hannity said.
