Fans of the beloved television series Gilmore Girls won’t have to say goodbye for long. Just one day after the series leaves Netflix on June 30, all seven seasons will begin streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service, giving fans a new place to revisit Stars Hollow.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Gilmore Girls will become available on Prime Video the day after Netflix clears the series from its platform. The fan-favorite series had been available on Netflix for the past 12 years, and the revival series, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, was created specifically for Netflix, as well.
According to People, the Gilmore Girls four-episode A Year in the Life revival series will remain on Netflix even after the original series departs.
Fans were stunned to learn that Netflix would no longer have the series available. It is already available on Hallmark and Hulu, and some Gilmore Girls fans have noted online that it’s also available on Start TV. However, many fans had relied on utilizing Netflix to watch their favorite comfort show.

The news of the Gilmore Girls Netflix exit hit fans hard.
On June 15, Netflix tweeted, “It’s a show? It’s a lifestyle. It’s a religion. We are sorry to say that Gilmore Girls Seasons 1-7 will be leaving Netflix in the US on June 30. Raising a cup of coffee to every fan who visited Stars Hollow with us.”
After Netflix made the official announcement on social media, multiple threads about it popped up in the show’s subreddit.
One thread, which garnered over 400 responses, was titled, “Are we canceling our [Netflix] subscription on June 30?”
One fan wrote, “[Shame] on you Netflix! I watch Gilmore Girls on repeat and fall asleep to it every night. This is my emotional support show.”
On another thread, a Reddit user suggested, “Lol the way they are announcing it, it feels like mockery. Like ‘this show is so great, but too bad, cause we are removing it.'”
Someone else shared, “My husband and I have 15 days to binge season 5-7 now. I just got him into it too.”
