John Schneider, 66, is firing back at his ex-wife Elvira Schneider over claims that he owes her millions in unpaid spousal support.
The former Dukes of Hazzard star filed new legal documents asking a judge to deny Elvira’s latest motion in their ongoing legal battle, after she alleged he owed her more than $2.3 million, TMZ reported on Friday, June 19. John argued Elvira failed to provide evidence backing up the figure and claimed she made mathematical errors in her calculations. A judge has not yet ruled, per the report.
According to the outlet, Elvira alleged John was significantly behind on spousal support, claiming he owed $2,382,548 — including close to $1 million in interest alone. Elvira filed for divorce in 2014 after 21 years of marriage, and the pair settled the case in 2019, with John ordered to pay her $25,000 a month in spousal support, per the report. She is now asking the court to award her a portion of John’s Screen Actors Guild pension and Social Security checks until the alleged debt is resolved.
John opened up to Closer about adjusting to life after loss months after Alicia’s passing. “I saw her pain, so I am delighted with God for ending it,” he said in October 2023. “I believe with all my heart and soul that one day, I will close my eyes here and I will open them there, and she’ll be there.”
John was also previously married to Tawny Little from 1983 to 1986.
