Glenn Close Says Kate McKinnon’s ‘SNL’ Impression of Her Left Her a ‘Little Confused’

If you’re pretty notable in Hollywood, there’s a chance Saturday Night Live will poke fun at you. But when the hit comedy program recently did that to Glenn Close, the actress admitted she’s still scratching her head at Kate McKinnon‘s impression of her.

The 71-year-old attended the Costume Designers Guild Awards on Tuesday, February 19 in Beverly Hills and was asked if she saw the 35-year-old comedian’s take on her. “I saw it! I didn’t quite get what she was doing,” the Oscar-nominated actress told Closer Weekly at the event. “It left me a little confused … I was harsh!” Of course, it is all in good fun as the Fatal Attraction star has hosted the popular NBC show in the past, and would even do it again.

“Oh, I’d love to do it! Kidding me? I’d love to do it. I’ve only done it twice,” she said. Perhaps it’s time the show’s creator Lorne Michaels gives her a call then! And speaking of hosting, there won’t be a main emcee at the Academy Awards this year, and Glenn revealed her thoughts on that as well. “You know, a lot of times when things are not what’s expected, it brings more creativity to something and more chances of doing something different. That’s the way I’m looking at it,” sh said. The Damages alum is nominated for Best Actress for her role in The Wife, an award many expect her to win.

“I’m thinking about it,” Glenn said about the possibility of taking home the Oscar and what she will say if she does. “I take very seriously the fact that a lot of people watch this, by the time my award comes up they might have all gone to bed. [Laughs] But, you know …”

Glenn is one of the most respected actresses in Hollywood, and she recently revealed if there are any life lessons she’s learned through her successful career. “That’s daunting. Isn’t it? In a very compelling way,” she exclusively told Closer Weekly. “I’ve always taken my craft very seriously and have always felt that I had to make choices for very personal reasons, very subjective reasons.” The actress also explained why she’s so careful about the roles she selects.

“If I ever chose something because I thought it would win me an award or make me a lot of money, I was going off track,” she said. “Ultimately, what we have as individuals is what makes us an individual. I think to be able to approach something personal and to learn a craft of getting into someone else’s skin I guess that’s the biggest actor rule that I live by. If I think it’s good, I just hope other people think it’s good enough to go see it.”
