A beloved star from the iconic movie Grease has just debuted a new partnership, and fans are getting a kick out of it. Didi Conn, 74, is working with Laura Geller Beauty to launch a new product. The fun tie-in to Conn’s most memorable scene in Grease is being praised as the perfect marketing move.
Conn played Frenchie in the 1978 movie starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. Frenchy became a beauty school dropout in the movie, and her new ad campaign with Laura Geller Beauty plays off of that storyline.
On June 23, as PR Newswire notes, Laura Geller Beauty debuted Root Touch Up, its first-ever product for hair.
A video advertisement for the campaign recreates the iconic Grease scene that featured Conn and the song “Beauty School Dropout.” Fans went wild over it.
On Instagram, one fan wrote, “The best ad I’ve seen maybe ever. It’s nostalgic, and super clever. Brings me back to my childhood.”
Another gushed, “Love her…What an inspiration Grease was for us kids in the 70s and 80s. I went to beauty school because of this movie and its characters.”
Someone else added, “Didi is still adorable how many decades later?”
“How can anyone not fall in love with that iconic voice and sweet smile,” questioned an additional Instagram user.

Playing Frenchy in Grease wasn’t Conn’s first acting role, nor her last. However, nearly 50 years later, it’s still the one that fans remember her for best.
Conn is still acting, recently appearing in both Best Medicine and Elsbeth. She also has three upcoming projects listed on her IMDb page.
Regarding joining the beauty campaign, the Grease star said, “I was so excited to be part of this campaign. It was such a fun way to revisit an iconic moment, but with a message that feels age-appropriate over 40 years later.”
The new haircare product by Laura Geller Beauty launched exclusively on Amazon on June 23 and will become available on the company’s website beginning on July 1.
