Hugh Jackman Is ‘Head Over Heels’ for Sutton Foster: Actor Thinks She Could Be ‘The One’

Hugh Jackman is head over heels with new flame Sutton Foster and is ready to go public soon enough, with the eventual aim to settle down and make her his wife in due course.

“For Hugh, this isn’t just a fling, he’s completely captivated by Sutton and sees her as ‘The One,’” an insider exclusively tells Closer. “He’s been drawn to her for a long time and feels a deep connection that he just can’t ignore.”

There’s been a lot of big changes in Hugh’s life recently, as the actor, 56, and wife Deborra-Lee Furness shockingly announced they were ending their marriage after 27 years in September 2023.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they said in a joint statement to People at the time. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

The former couple share two adopted children, Oscar and Ava, who remain their “highest priority” after their split. But Hugh is ready to embrace his next chapter, according to the source.

“Although he’s still healing from the raw emotions surrounding his split from Deb, he’s also looking forward to the future and building something lasting with Sutton,” the source says.

The Greatest Showman actor began costarring with Sutton in the Broadway revival of The Music Man in 2021. The show ended its run in January 2023 but its stars are still making headlines.

“Word is that Hugh and Sutton plan to debut their romance over the holidays,” the source continues. “They’re eager to get out there and enjoy date nights and hang in the open with his friends. Triple dates with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, are going to happen.”

In October, Sutton, 49, filed for divorce from Ted Griffin after 10 years of marriage. They adopted one child together during their marriage, daughter Emily. And while they have both split from their spouses, neither the Younger actress nor Hugh have publicly addressed their budding romance.

“Right now, they’re waiting for Sutton’s divorce to be finalized and are determined to let things settle before taking any big steps,” the insider adds. “But make no mistake, Hugh is head over heels and completely committed, he wants to make her Mrs. Jackman and she seems to be on the same page.”

Though Hugh has moved on from his marriage with Deb, our source tells us she is still reeling over their split and the aftermath.

“Apparently Deb is feeling very betrayed, which is tough for Hugh, but he believes the old saying is true, you can’t help who you fall in love with and he’s very much in love with Sutton,” the insider reveals.

Similarly, a second source previously told Closer earlier this month that Hugh and Sutton have “been inseparable.”

“Her connection with Hugh was something no one saw coming,” a third source told Closer earlier this month. “They fell in love, plain and simple.”
