Janet Jackson Postpones Her World Tour to Start a Family

Just weeks after the 49-year-old singer announced the cancellation of several concerts on her Unbreakable world tour, Janet has revealed she is postponing the remainder of her shows to start a family with husband Wissam Al Mana.

"We're in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. So I'm going to have to delay the tour," Janet said in a video message posted to Twitter on the morning of Wednesday, April 6.
"Please, if you can try and understand it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can," she continued.

Earlier this year, Janet similarly took to Twitter to deny she had cancelled her tour dates because she was battling cancer. "Remember… believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love," she shared in a video message in early January.
Janet and her husband, Wissam, 41, married in a private ceremony in 2012. The "Rhythm Nation" singer was previously hitched to soul singer James DeBarge from 1984 until 1985 and to music video director René Elizondo, Jr. from 1991 to 2001.
