Who Is Jane Erin Carrey? Meet Legendary Comedian Jim Carrey’s Only Daughter

He will always be known for his incredible comedic talents and his ability to expand into other dramatic roles — but Jim Carrey should also be recognized for being an incredible father to his only child, Jane Erin Carrey.

The A-lister was married to his ex-wife, Melissa Womer, from 1987 to 1995. The pair welcomed their only daughter during their relationship. The Ace Ventura star is, of course, a great dad, but he learned quite a bit from his own father, Percy. 

“My father could have been a great comedian, but he didn’t believe that that was possible for him, and so he made a conservative choice. Instead, he got a safe job as an accountant,” the star said during a commencement speech at the Maharashi University back in 2014.

“I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you could fail at what you don’t love, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love,” he continued, adding, “I’ve often said that I wish people could realize all their dreams and wealth and fame, so that they could see that it’s not where they’re gonna find their sense of completion.”

It is clear that Jim has now done everything in his power to make sure his daughter strives for her dreams.

Who Is Jane Erin Carrey?

Jane was born September 6, 1987, to Jim and Melissa, in Los Angeles, California. Jim’s only child is a woman of many talents — not only does she sing in a band called The Jane Carrey Band, but she is also made appearances on Catfish: The TV Show. 

She even tried out for American Idol during the show’s 11th season, auditioning with the song, “Something to Talk About” by Bonnie Raitt. Unfortunately, she was eliminated during the Hollywood Week Round. After her audition, viewers got to see host Ryan Seacrest speak with Jim on the phone to talk about her successful audition. 

“She’s so wonderful and amazing to me,” he gushed about his daughter. “I can’t wait for the world to understand what she has inside of her. This is going to be a fantastic year.”

Jane did take her musical talents to one of her father’s projects, writing the songs “Breathing Without You” and “Sticky Situation” for the Dumb and Dumber To soundtrack in 2014. 

Is She Married?

Jane tied the knot with Alex Santana on November 14, 2009. Sadly, the former couple split soon after in 2010, and their divorce was finalized a year later, according to reports. Alex is also a performer and guitarist. He was a member of the metal band Blood Money at the time of their split. 

Does She Have Any Children?

Jane shares her son, Jackson Riley Santana, with Alex, making Jim a grandpa. The exes welcomed their child on February 26, 2010, per Superbhub.

“I’m excited about it because I never really got along with girls growing up,” Jane told People before giving birth to her son. “I was a little afraid that if it was a girl, that she would not like me, you know? So I’m very happy about the boy.”
