Princess Kate Middleton attended the annual Festival of Remembrance and Remembrance Sunday, after completing chemotherapy.

Kate, 42, joined her husband, Prince William, and other members of the royal family for the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, November 9. The mom of three was all smiles while wearing a dark dress accented with a bright red button and broach. She wore her hair in loose waves around her shoulder.

Kate reportedly also has plans to join the family at The Cenotaph war memorial in London for their annual appearance and to attend the event with the royal family for Remembrance Sunday.

“On the second Sunday of each November, The King leads the nation in remembering those who have died in world wars and other conflicts,” according to Buckingham Palace. “In a ceremony at the Cenotaph, the focal point of the nation’s homage, Members of the Royal Family unite with others in thousands of similar ceremonies across the UK and worldwide in holding two minutes’ of silence at 11a.m.”

Additionally, King Charles, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent were also in attendance.

The outing came just two months after Kate announced she had completed chemotherapy for an unspecified form of cancer.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate said in the September video announcement. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you/ With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” she added. “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

Kate went on to say that her focus is to “stay cancer free” as her “path to healing and full recovery” will be long.

Just ahead of Remembrance Sunday, William, 42, reflected on what a difficult year it’s been after his wife and father were both diagnosed with cancer.

“It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult,” he told reporters during a recent visit to South Africa.

“I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done,” he added. “But from a personal family point of view, it’s been brutal.”
